The James Gray
Collection is a photographic archive
held by The Regency Society of Brighton. The online galleries contain
some 7,500 annotated photographs,
sub-divided into areas of the city of Brighton & Hove. This fascinating
collection of historical images was gathered together by James Gray
(1904-1998), a resident of Brighton who, over many years, constructed a
photographic record of the streets and buildings of Brighton & Hove.

The East Brighton Bygones
website is managed by the East Brighton Bygones Society,
a local history group which focuses on the local and social history of
East Brighton (Whitehawk, the Bates Estate, Manor Farm, Moulsecoomb,
Saunders Park Estate, etc.). The members of the East Brighton
Bygones Society have placed the fruits of their local history research
and their own family histories on the East Brighton
