TOWN HISTORY WALKS

The U3A Local History Group organizes regular guided 'Town History Walks" around Brighton & Hove. The walks are led by experienced town guides who happen to be members of the U3A Local History Group (Chris Childs and Peter & Anita Tarshis). The walks either concentrate on a particular area of the City of Brighton & Hove (e.g. The Old Town, The North Laine district, Kemp Town, Brighton Seafront, The Extra-Mural Cemetery) or specific themes (e.g. The Lost Cinemas of Brighton). All walks are free, but numbers are restricted to about a dozen; it is therefore advisable to book a place with the particular walk leader. You will be able to sign up for walks at Local History meetings.
